Its beneficial properties were first discovered by Benedictine monks in the 13th century, while modern tourism began to develop in the late 19th century. Today, Portorož remains one of Slovenia’s most recognizable and popular seaside resorts, where tradition and modern comfort blend harmoniously.
In this spirit, the story of Porto MarIn Strašek House began in 1972. With great dedication, warmth, and a genuine sense of hospitality, Alenka and Viktor Strašek created a place where guests can relax, unwind, and feel at home. Their vision of comfort and their careful attention to every detail are reflected in every corner of the house.
In 2025, the family tradition was taken over by their son, Uroš Strašek, who continues their journey with the same commitment and passion. His goal is to preserve the authentic homely atmosphere while offering guests a pleasant, relaxing, and carefree stay that they will remember fondly and gladly return to.
